Gap Ministries

Gap Ministries are ways for us to engage the church to respond to the needs that are not met through other services that are offered in the community. These ministries are supported through donations and volunteers from local churches.

Rides of Love

Love INC partners with local churches to provide rides to medical and mental health appointments for residents of Sioux County who have transportation challenges. Rides are provided through the generosity of local church volunteers.

Food Resource

Love INC collaborates with Sunshine Foods in Rock Valley to fill local food requests. This provides the opportunity for our neighbors to receive fresh produce, bread, and dairy items and allows us to better serve people with special diets.

Home Essentials Resource

Love INC, in partnership with Calvin Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley, collects, stores, and distributes home essential products and personal care items. Sioux County residents are able to access the Love INC Home Essentials Resource at Calvin CRC in Rock Valley, IA every 1st Monday of the month from 3 to 5 PM or by calling Love INC for an appointment.

The Home Essential Resource relies on donations received from the community so availability is limited. We ask everyone to take only what they need.

We accept the following items:
  • cleaning supplies
  • laundry detergent
  • paper products
  • personal hygiene items
  • baby essentials
  • female hygiene products

Before collecting items for the Home Essentials Resource Ministry churches and individuals are asked to call Love INC (712-476-5990) for a current list of specific items needed.

Heart of Christmas

In early December, Love INC hosts the Heart of Christmas event and invites families to come together. Activities include cookie decorating, carnival games, face-painting, fun activities, hot chocolate, snacks and more. Families who register for this event can shop at the Christmas store stocked full of fun toys donated by area churches and receive a holiday meal kit. The highlight of the event is when the children and adults gather to hear the Christmas story retold in a meaningful and interactive way.

Heart and Soles

In August, Love INC sponsors a back-to-school shoe store (various locations) where parents can come with their kids and choose a new pair of tennis shoes. Each family pays a small, per-child fee to gain access to the store. Church volunteers throughout Sioux County purchase new, quality tennis shoes for children in K-4th grade during the month of July. Love INC continues to partner with local schools and churches throughout the school year to assist with shoe needs.

Reality Check

Reality Check is an interactive simulation where students learn first hand the importance of sound financial
decisions and develop their understanding of the day-to-day choices that will impact their future.

The event, sponsored by Love INC Sioux County, involves a partnership where the school district and local businesses come together for a day. Community participants include bankers, realtors, physicians, dentists, tag agents, hair stylists, day care providers, car dealers, police, and many other volunteers.
