Love and Learn classes

Through the Love and Learn educational opportunities we take a holistic approach to addressing need. True transformation requires looking beyond immediate need.

We engage relationally with people to address the emotional, spiritual, physical and relational circumstances that led to the immediate need in the first place.
Our class facilitators are volunteers trained and equipped to teach specific life skills and/or mentor people as they continue to grow towards change.
Here’s what participants have to say about classes:

Brent: “Going into the Boundaries class, I was uncertain of what to expect. However after the first class, I realized I had a lot to learn when it came to my personal boundaries. Having 8 children, I realized I should have set better boundaries starting when they were little. As classes continued, it affirmed the need for better boundary setting.  I don’t do it perfectly yet, but strive to do better. I fall back into old habits and on those days that I
lapse, I am reminded of the need for boundary setting. It has helped Brenda and I be on the same page and work better as a parenting team.  It has allowed me to step up more as a dad to all our kids ranging from 8 to 24. Class also helped us see where we needed to set better boundaries that we thought we were doing ok in.”
Brenda: “I was actually excited to take the boundaries class because I knew it was something we/I needed. I thought we had done a fairly decent job with boundaries but quickly realized there was work that needs to be done.  Emotions I had to identify when setting a boundary.  Letting go of guilt, giving myself permission to say no without justification. Practicing what I preach. It also opened my eyes to boundaries in areas that I hadn’t really thought of, such as food, time with Jesus, the digital age, and even myself. The process is a work in progress.  Brent and I slip into old habits, but we keep striving to do better.”
